WePlay Participant Terms and Code of Conduct

Last updated: 13 August 2026

Welcome to WePlay.

WePlay is a community for people to meet, play sports and enjoy being active together. We want sessions to be welcoming, respectful and safe for everyone.

By creating a WePlay account, registering for or attending a WePlay session, you agree to these Participant Terms and Code of Conduct.

1. Who can participate

You must be at least 18 years old to create a WePlay account or participate in WePlay sessions unless WePlay expressly states otherwise for a particular programme.

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide to WePlay is accurate and up to date.

Your account is personal to you and must not be used by another person.

2. Our community standard

WePlay is built around a simple idea:

Play more. Live better. Together.

Everyone participating in WePlay is expected to help create an environment where people feel comfortable joining in, regardless of their experience or ability.

When using WePlay or attending a session, you agree to:

  • treat other participants, organisers, venue staff and members of the public with respect;
  • play fairly and in the spirit of the activity;
  • follow reasonable instructions given by session organisers or venue staff;
  • respect differences in ability, experience and confidence;
  • avoid intentionally dangerous or reckless behaviour;
  • respect personal boundaries;
  • use appropriate language and behaviour;
  • respect venues, equipment and other people's belongings; and
  • help create a welcoming environment for new participants.

3. Behaviour we do not accept

The following behaviour is not permitted at WePlay sessions or through the WePlay platform:

  • harassment, bullying or intimidation;
  • discrimination or hateful behaviour;
  • unwanted sexual attention or inappropriate physical contact;
  • threats, fighting or deliberate violence;
  • deliberately dangerous or reckless play;
  • abusive or persistently disruptive behaviour;
  • attending while seriously impaired by alcohol or drugs;
  • damaging or stealing property;
  • impersonating another person;
  • fraudulent or deceptive conduct;
  • repeatedly ignoring reasonable safety instructions; or
  • conduct that WePlay reasonably considers likely to make others feel unsafe or unwelcome.

If there is an immediate safety concern, WePlay or a session organiser may ask a participant to stop playing or leave the session.

4. Respect for different abilities

WePlay sessions may include people with different levels of experience and fitness.

Unless a session is specifically described as being for a particular level, participants should be considerate of those who may be newer to the sport.

Competitive play is welcome where appropriate, but not at the expense of another person's safety or enjoyment.

5. Your health and fitness

Physical activity and sport involve exertion and carry inherent risks.

You are responsible for deciding whether a particular activity is suitable for your health, fitness, experience and physical condition.

You should not participate if you are unwell, injured or otherwise unable to take part safely.

If you have a medical condition, injury or other concern that may affect your ability to participate safely, you should seek appropriate medical advice before taking part.

HealthHub similarly advises participants to exercise discretion before higher-intensity physical activity and, where relevant, consult a doctor if they have an existing condition, illness or injury.

During a session, you should stop participating and seek assistance if you experience unusual pain, dizziness, breathing difficulty, chest pain or another concerning symptom.

6. Assumption of ordinary sporting risks

By choosing to participate, you acknowledge that sports and physical activities involve ordinary risks, including the risk of:

  • slips, trips and falls;
  • collisions with other participants;
  • contact with balls, rackets or equipment;
  • strains, sprains and other sporting injuries;
  • weather-related conditions;
  • uneven or slippery surfaces; and
  • other risks ordinarily associated with the relevant activity.

You voluntarily choose to participate having regard to those ordinary risks.

This clause does not exclude or restrict any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under Singapore law.

7. Session organisers and venues

WePlay sessions may take place at third-party venues or involve facilities, instructors, coaches or organisers who are not employees of WePlay.

Participants must comply with applicable venue rules and reasonable instructions from venue staff and session organisers.

WePlay does not guarantee that every venue, facility or third-party service will be free from defects or interruptions.

8. Injuries and emergencies

If you or another participant is injured or becomes unwell, notify the session organiser as soon as reasonably possible.

Where WePlay or a session organiser reasonably believes emergency assistance is required, they may contact emergency services and, where appropriate, an emergency contact provided by you.

If you provide an emergency contact, you confirm that you have permission to provide that person's contact details for this purpose.

9. Personal belongings

You are responsible for your own belongings during WePlay sessions.

Please take reasonable care of valuables, equipment and personal property.

To the extent permitted by law, WePlay is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal property arising from circumstances outside its reasonable control.

10. Your responsibility for your conduct

You are responsible for your own actions while using WePlay and participating in sessions.

If your unlawful, fraudulent, deliberately harmful or reckless conduct causes loss, damage, injury or expense to WePlay or another person, you may be responsible for that loss to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these terms requires you to indemnify WePlay for liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or transferred.

Singapore law restricts unreasonable indemnity provisions, so this clause is intended to apply only to loss arising from a participant's own wrongful conduct.

11. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Subject to applicable law, WePlay will not be responsible for losses arising solely from:

  • the ordinary risks inherent in sporting activities;
  • the actions of another participant;
  • a participant's failure to follow reasonable instructions;
  • inaccurate information provided by a participant;
  • third-party venue closures or interruptions;
  • weather or events outside WePlay's reasonable control; or
  • loss or damage to personal belongings outside WePlay's reasonable control.

Any limitation or exclusion of liability applies only to the extent permitted by Singapore law. Singapore's Unfair Contract Terms Act specifically prohibits excluding liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence and regulates exclusions relating to other negligence-related loss.

12. Photos and videos

WePlay may occasionally take photographs or videos at community sessions.

Where images are intended to be used for identifiable promotional or marketing purposes, WePlay will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent where required.

If you do not wish to appear in promotional photographs or videos, please tell the organiser or follow any opt-out process provided for the session.

Personal data, including identifiable photographs, will be handled in accordance with WePlay's Privacy Policy and applicable Singapore data-protection requirements. Singapore's PDPA governs the collection, use and disclosure of personal data by organisations.

13. Personal data

WePlay may collect and use information necessary to operate the platform and sessions, including information such as:

  • your name;
  • contact details;
  • sports interests;
  • session registrations and attendance;
  • referral information;
  • emergency contact information, where provided; and
  • information necessary to administer WePlay programmes and promotions.

WePlay will handle personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable Singapore law.

14. Attendance and cancellations

If you register for a session, please attend or cancel your place as early as reasonably possible if your plans change.

Repeated no-shows may prevent other community members from joining sessions.

WePlay may introduce reasonable measures relating to repeated no-shows, cancellations or misuse of session registrations and will communicate those measures where applicable.

15. Changes or cancellations by WePlay

WePlay may change, postpone or cancel a session where reasonably necessary, including because of:

  • weather;
  • venue availability;
  • insufficient participants;
  • safety concerns;
  • organiser availability;
  • technical or operational issues; or
  • circumstances outside WePlay's reasonable control.

Where practicable, WePlay will notify affected participants through the platform or the contact details associated with their account.

16. Reporting a concern

If another participant behaves inappropriately or you experience a safety or conduct concern, please report it to WePlay or the session organiser.

Reports will be considered reasonably and sensitively.

Where appropriate, WePlay may investigate the matter and take action to protect participants and the community.

17. Suspension or removal from WePlay

WePlay may warn, suspend or remove a participant from a session or from the WePlay community where it reasonably believes that the participant:

  • has seriously or repeatedly breached this Code of Conduct;
  • presents a safety risk;
  • has engaged in harassment, discrimination, violence or fraud;
  • has abused the platform or another participant;
  • has repeatedly disrupted sessions; or
  • has otherwise behaved in a way materially inconsistent with the purpose of the WePlay community.

Where appropriate, WePlay may take immediate action without prior warning where safety or serious misconduct is involved.

18. Giveaways and promotions

WePlay may run giveaways, lucky draws or other promotions from time to time.

Those promotions may have separate terms and conditions, which will apply in addition to these Participant Terms.

Participation in WePlay does not require a purchase unless expressly stated otherwise for a separate paid service.

19. Changes to these Terms

WePlay may update these Terms from time to time where reasonably necessary to reflect changes to the platform, programmes, law or community standards.

Material changes will be communicated through the WePlay platform or another appropriate channel where reasonably practicable.

20. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.

21. Acceptance

By creating a WePlay account, you confirm that:

  • you have read and understood these Participant Terms and Code of Conduct;
  • you agree to follow the WePlay community standards;
  • you understand that participation in sports involves ordinary risks;
  • you are responsible for deciding whether an activity is suitable for you; and
